In the workshops, traditional Turkish Ebru (marbling) is made with traditional Marbling materials such as earth dyes, horse hair and rose branch brushes etc. The first lesson begins with the history of the art of Marbling and technical knowledge about the materials used. Ebru teacher demonstrates how to make Marbling: how to hold the brush, how to throw and how to shape the paint. In the first 2 months, students work on the kinds of Marbling which we call ground Ebru such as battal, tidal, shawl, somaki, combed, nightingale's nest, turpentined and double printing. Afterwards, students start to work on orator Marbling and floral Marbling.
